In 1908 the Pittsburgh Press referred to the project that Frank Felix Nicola was proposing as an establishment that could cultivate “a sound mind in a sound body”. This proposed project was the Pittsburgh Athletic Association.

Today the PAA still offers one of the most comprehensive athletic facilities and services as any Club in Pittsburgh. From the ground floor to the roof of the building, its state-of-the-art facilities are designed as a total exercise and recreational center for your health and well-being. For Members who want to follow prescribed exercise programs, stay physically fit, indulge in our spa services, or enjoy a variety of sports activities in an atmosphere of camaraderie, the Pittsburgh Athletic Association is an outstanding complex with so much to offer you and your entire family.
